The ideal candidate should have
• University degree in Education, Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, or other related Social Science fields.
• Five years related work experience in program/project management of which at least three years shall be in NGO.
• Proven project management experience which includes project designing, implementation, coordination, provision of technical guidance to partners including monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
• Good understanding of the relevant sector country systems and working relationship with or experience in government bureaus.
• Experience with participatory approaches to education, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, or other related area.
• Experience working with IDPs, refugees and other vulnerable populations.
• Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office word, outlook and excel.
• Ability to travel and spend significant amount of time out of Addis Ababa.
• the ability to work well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well
• Excellent command of English language

Qualification

A recognized MA level Qualification in education in emergencies, Psychology Child friendly Methods, educational psychology, guidance and counselling with grounded experience in teacher training, educational monitoring and assessment project management, and training materials development;

Experience/Knowledge

Proven experience in training of teachers at pre-primary and primary level and proven knowledge and skills in Active learning, child-centred and inclusive methodologies and special needs education,
Proven knowledge and experience in projects related to DRR, child-centred and active learning methodologies,
Practical understanding of children and teachers’ needs in areas of basic education
Evidenced skills experiences and qualification in psychosocial skill and child friendly methods;
